Booking Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Lake Shore Lodge, Kipili, on the shores of Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania.
Please read the following booking terms and conditions before confirming your reservation. These conditions apply to accommodation bookings for the 2027 season.
1. Reservations & Confirmation
Bookings are accepted by email or in writing.
A reservation is confirmed once a deposit of 50% of the invoice amount has been received. Until payment is received, the reservation may be held as pending.
All accommodation, transfers and third-party services are subject to availability and confirmation at the time of booking.
2. Deposits & Payment
A 50% deposit is required within 10 days of making a reservation.
The remaining 50% must be paid no later than 30 days before arrival.
Reservations made within 30 days of arrival require full payment immediately.
Lake Shore Lodge reserves the right to cancel reservations where payment has not been received according to the agreed schedule.
3. Cancellations & Refunds
All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
More than 30 days before arrival: 80% of payments received will be refunded, less applicable bank charges.
30 days or fewer before arrival: No cash refund will be made.
At management's discretion, payments received may be applied towards a future reservation, subject to availability and the accommodation rates applicable at the time of rebooking.
Any third-party services, including transfers or externally arranged activities, remain subject to the relevant service provider's own cancellation terms and conditions.
4. Children & Infants
We welcome families and children at Lake Shore Lodge.
Infants under 2 years: Stay free of charge when sharing with their parents.
Children aged 2–11 years: Pay the applicable published child accommodation rate.
Guests aged 12 years and older: Pay adult accommodation rates.
Child accommodation rates are charged per child, per night, when sharing with parents.
Baby cots are available subject to availability. Maximum room occupancy limits apply.
5. Accommodation Rates, VAT & Bed Night Levy
All published accommodation rates include 18% VAT, but exclude the statutory 1% Bed Night Levy.
The Bed Night Levy is calculated at 1% of the accommodation amount excluding VAT and is charged separately.
The levy applies to all accommodation, including camping, but does not apply to meals, activities or other services.
Accommodation rates are quoted per room per night unless otherwise stated. Meals are not included in room-only accommodation rates and are charged separately unless a meal-inclusive package has been specifically booked.
Please confirm the applicable accommodation rate and any additional charges when making your reservation.
6. Check-in & Check-out
Check-in: From 12:00 noon.
Check-out: By 10:00 AM.
Late check-out is subject to prior approval and room availability. A discretionary late check-out fee of USD 50 per room may apply.
Late check-out cannot be guaranteed, particularly when incoming guests are expected.
7. Meals & Dietary Requirements
Meals are available through the lodge restaurant and may be booked separately or as part of an agreed meal package.
Guests are encouraged to confirm their meal preferences, including vegetarian or non-vegetarian options, at breakfast each day. This assists our kitchen with preparation and helps minimise food waste.
Please advise us in advance of any allergies or special dietary requirements so that we can discuss suitable arrangements.
8. Transfers, Activities & Third-party Services
Airport transfers, excursions and activities are subject to availability and may carry additional charges.
Please confirm transfer arrangements, activity prices and any third-party service costs when making your reservation.
Third-party services are subject to the relevant provider's terms and conditions.
