Well, than this trip is made for you! We will take you on a flying safari all around Tanzania from Arusha National Park close to the majestic Kilimanjaro all the way to the Southern Higlands. Then you jump again on a charter plane for a once in a lifetime experience in the Mahale Mountains before you will enjoy relaxing vibes at the shores of the worlds longest lake.

You will go on a once in a lifetime experience into the Mahale Mountains National Park, enjoy some relaxing days of beach life at Lake Tanganyika and discover an abundance of wildlife in three famous National Parks.

Day 1          Getting started …

Welcome to Tanzania – you made it! We pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and drive you to the upmarket Twiga Lodge just outside Arusha National Park. Here you will stay in a modern african style double room with fantastic views to Mount Meru, Tanzanias 2nd highest mountain. If you like to start off your day with a local Kilimanjaro beer, no worries that it`s to early because everytime is Kili-Time. The warm hospitality of your hosts Paul & Erika will make you immediatly feel like being home, so just chill & enjoy

Day 2           It`s game drive time

And what is better then the most iconic offroader in the world to go on a full day game drive into Arusha National Park. Paul will take you in a Landrover Defender into the close-by National Park where you will spot Elephants, Giraffes and many more. Going on that trip with one of the most experienced guides in Arusha Park is almost a garantuee to spot wildlife in their naturall environnement. Back at Twiga Lodge you can round up the day sitting with friends around a campfire before you enjoy your dinner.

Day 3           We are flying high

After a good breakfast you say goodbye to Twiga Lodge. From Arusha Airport you will take a charter plane to the Southern Highlands. You will land at the Ruaha Airstrip in a proper bush pilot style. WHAT? No airport? Nope, pole sana bwana. Your basecamp for the next days will be the upperclass Ruaha River Lodge. Here you can see elephants and hippos right in front of you, so grab a drink and toast these majestic animals.

Day 4 | 5      The king is waiting for you

It`s definitely time for some game drives and to visit the lion king! Ruaha National Park has the highest density of lions on this planet - we are not sure about other wolrds. So get you cams ready for some great footage. After a good breakfast you will go on a game drive with your guide and explore the park. It can either be a full day game drive or you split it up in two game drives. We are sure you have stories to tell while sitting around a campfire at night. If you close your eyes and listen carefully you will hear what not many people have consciously heard before: The symphony of Africa.

Day 6            Time for something special

Again it`s time to say Goodbye as the next adventure is still waiting for you. This might be the highlight of your trip and something to write home about it. With Safari Airlink Charters you will go maybe the remotest National Park in the whole of Arfica: Mahale Mountains National Park. You will stay in the upmarket MbaliMbali Lodge again on a full board basis. The wild mountain jungle behind you and the crystal clear waters of Lake Tanganyika in front of you, time to hug your beloved and maybe shed a tear with this unbelievable beauty surrounding you. But the biggest adventure is still about to come …

Day 7 | 8       Meet the neighbors

Early in the morning you will head off into the mountains. The ranger will take you deep into the dense ancient forest for one out of two Chimpanzee trekkings. Meet our closest neighbors in their home. We share 97,8% of our DNA with these amazing animals, isnt it just unbelievable. Once you found them you are allowed to spend up to one hour with them before you return to camp. A nice shower, a cold drink and one of the most stunning sunsets you ever experienced are waiting for you at the MbaliMbali camp. 

The other day you can decide, if you like to go on a 2nd chimp trekking or simply relax at the beach.

Day 9 - 13    Easy vibes & beachlife

After all these adventures it is time to take it slow. Pole pole as we say in Tanzania. You hop a little bit south to Lake Shore Lodge, the number one lodge all along Lake Tanganyika. You will stay in a maledivian-style Luxury Chalet build into the waters of Lake Tanganyika. Here at Lake Shore Lodge you can be as lazy or as active as you like. Pamper yourself with a massage in our spa, join our yoga classes or take a kayak to explore the area around us. With our traditional Dhow we will take you on a sunset cruise around the islands before you watch the sun going down over the Congo Mountains on the other side of the lake. Mass tourism hasn`t yet arrived in our area which will give you a very authentic experience with locals e.g. from the nearby villages of Kipili and Karungu.

Day 14    Farewell Lake Tanganyika

Unfortunatly also the best holiday will come to an end. In the late morning you leave our little paradise and a shuttle brings you to Mpanda where you will catch your flight to Dar es Salaam the next morning. On your way to the airport will have again the chance to spot some wildlife as the trip goes through Katavi National Park. Maybe some lions on the road will greet you or giraffes will cross your way.

TOTAL price per person $ 6,490.- 5 Jan to 28 Feb / 1 Nov to 20 Dec) | $ 7,790.- 1 Jun to 31 Oct / 21 Dec to 4 Jan)

The trip includes all park entrance & concession fees, flights & transfers in Tanzania, 1% bed night levy and 18% VAT. Not included are flights from/to Tanzania. Transfer from Dar es Salaam Airport and hotel in Dar es Salaam can be organized on request. Flight schedules might change.

A deposit of 75% is to be received within 10 days of the booking date to fully confirm a booking. Full payment is to be received no later than 30 days prior to arrival. For bookings later than 30 days prior to arrival, payment is due immediately. Until the booking is confirmed we will hold the booking as provisional. Costs for domestic flights and accommodation at properties other than Lake Shore Lodge & Campsite are not refundable.
